Also, the orb did make aizen into a being transcending normal souls, the idea of aizen making a soul with the orb is not far fetched at all IMO.

My point about shinigami-quincy is not that it is better, its that it is doable. Aizen wanted to strengthen souls so even if he would prefer a shinigami-hollow hybrid it does not make sense to pursue it if he is aware that a pure shinigam-hollow hybrid is not possible. Even if for some reason a shinigami-quincy hybrid is weaker than a shinigami-hollow hybrid a shinigami-quincy hybrid still a stronger soul than a pure shinigami.  It is interesting to think about why he would outright ignore a quincy hybrid though. Perhaps he did think it would be an inferior type of hybrid? Considering quincy rely on surrounding reishi, the quincy cross to use their basic abilities and their ultimate technique is basically induced by a foreign object then perhaps it makes sense for him to think a quincy hybrid would be weaker. In turn hollows can use all of their techniques on their own to begin with and have pretty strong powers by themselves along with very durable bodies due to their regeneration (although most espada did not keep that). The only ability the quincy have that would be ideal for aizen is blutz which is basically the best defense in the series however the arrancar do have their hierro which is a pretty good defense and it does not have to be exchanged with defense. I wonder if hierro is actually related to quincy rather than hollows though. Presumably arrancar were made into proper hybrids so they do have quincy in them. Hardened skin could be a variation of the quincy ability.
